Mixed Expectations

Just so there's no misunderstanding on the intent of this piece, I'll go ahead and explain it upfront (if you wish to depict on your own, read no further):

Al is depressed because he tries so hard to impress his brother with witty creations, seeking his approval, but what Al fails to realize is that he's already GOT that approval: Ed already looks up to him as a comforting, strong presence. In his eyes, Al's already a giant who means the world to him. But Al doesn't see that, for he's too obsessed about measuring up to his brother in the field of practical skills.

This is the last piece I post inspired by recent events in my life, since I've now moved on. Future ones will concentrate on other themes.
